Fence Types We Install In Fairway, KS
JLS Craftsmen – The Fence Company has installed cedar privacy fences, picket fences, ornamental aluminum, and vinyl on Fairway properties, and we know the city's process. Fairway requires a building permit for every new and replacement fence, along with a plot plan to verify placement. Work without a permit gets a stop work order and a tripled permit fee, so this is not a city where you want to cut corners. We handle the permit and inspection scheduling for you. If you want a fence in Fairway that fits the neighborhood, protects your trees, and is built to last, call JLS Craftsmen – The Fence Company for a free estimate.

How Your Fence Project Works
Most of the worry in a fence project is not the fence. It is not knowing what happens next, or who is responsible for the permit, or whether anyone will pick up the phone after the crew drives away. Here is the whole process, start to finish.
Get Your Estimate, Online or In Person
Want a budget number at 9pm on a Tuesday? Use our online estimator and get a project estimate in a few minutes, no phone call required. When you are ready for a firm quote, we come to your property, walk the fence line with you, and measure it ourselves. You will see material samples, and we will talk through gate placement and how your grade affects the build. Your written quote is itemized by linear footage, materials and gates. Approve it and a 25% deposit holds your spot on the schedule.
Permits, HOA Approval & Utility Locates
We pull the permit. Fairway requires one for most residential fences, and that paperwork is our job, not yours. HOAs are the one piece we cannot fully handle for you. We assemble everything your association asks for, including style, height, materials and a site drawing, and we deal with them directly when they will talk to us. Many Johnson HOAs only communicate with the homeowner on record, so in those cases you submit and we make sure the packet is complete. We call in every utility locate before anyone digs.
Installation Day
You get an exact installation date, not a window we narrow down later. The foreman on your job introduces himself before work begins, so you know who is in your yard and who to ask if something comes up. Most residential fences are finished within a couple of days of starting. We work around your landscaping, haul off the old fence and the debris, and leave the site clean. That cleanup is part of the price, not a line item added at the end. If weather moves your date, you hear it from us first.
Final Walkthrough & Warranty
Before we call the job done, we walk the fence with you and check every gate latch, post and panel. The remaining 75% is due at completion. We send a secure ACH link through QuickBooks, which is the simplest option for most homeowners. We also take checks, and credit cards if you prefer, though cards carry a 3% processing fee. Then your warranty starts: one year on our workmanship, plus manufacturer coverage on your materials if applicable.

Fairway is a small city in Johnson County, Kansas, with a 2020 population of 4,170 and a land area of just over one square mile. First developed in the 1930s and incorporated in 1949, the community is known as the City of Trees for its dense residential canopy, and it is home to the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site.
The city requires a building permit for all new and replacement fences on residential lots, and a plot plan must accompany the application to verify the fence location. Fairway's Public Tree Protection ordinance applies to trees in the right of way and may require temporary protective fencing during construction. Work started without a permit results in a stop work order and a tripled permit fee. JLS Craftsmen – The Fence Company manages the permit process for homeowners in Fairway.
